The original Leo's was built entirely by Leo himself. In May 1948, the building was completed and Leo was anxious to share his wife's cooking. Leo's restaurant experience and Josephine's authentic family recipes were a successful combination. Together, the couple established a thriving business serving the local community. Today Leo's can boast that it is the oldest family operated restaurant in the South Bay area. Leo's Mexican Food would like to thank its customers for four generations of continued support!
At Leo's we pride ourselves in providing authentic Mexican food using the freshest ingredients. Each week, Lionel travels throughout the Los Angeles area in search of the ripest produce. Our diligent staff strives to prepare the time honored recipes which Josephine made famous more than 50 years ago.
You must try the Carne Asada, served with guacamole and tortillas. Or the Guisado Ranchero; a fajita style dinner with beef, chicken, shrimp or a combination of all three. Or if you are a fish lover, definitely order the Halibut Al Horno, a delicious health consciously prepared fillet, baked in a special, spicy sauce and served with rice, salad and tortillas.
